Years ago, I was at a weekend conference/retreat, and one of the icebreaker games we played there involved choosing an animal to represent yourself. At the time I chose 'turtle' entirely on a whim. Now I'm thinking it might not be too unrepresentative a totem animal for me. After all, it's slow-moving, generally inoffensive, not very physically affectionate, and tends to retreat into itself in threatening situations -- all traits with which I can readily sympathize.

Then again, maybe I've just been using this LiveJournal layout for too long.
