I felt the need to post, if only to get back in the habit. I haven't got much of interest to say, I warn you now.

My boss is finally back from vacation, and I find I actually prefer working with him lurking about the lab, making sure I'm getting stuff done. Lack of work ethic has always been one of my biggest problems, but even I can keep focused when I know there's a good chance my supervisor could wander in at any moment and catch me slacking. It's such a strange experience, having a professor who I can actually interact with, who knows who I am and cares whether or not I do my work. I've really missed that, these last four years.

In my off hours I've also been watching Doctor Who and Torchwood episodes over on stage6. This summer I've been getting together with friends every Monday to watch the latest episodes as they come out, and I figured it was time I filled in a bit of the backstory. They're kind of addictive, and so purely entertaining. I think I'll be staying away from the old Doctor Who for now, though. I don't think I'm up to watching my way through ~700 episodes, but at the same time I'm afraid that once I start I won't be able to stop until I've seen them all.
