So the hard drive in my computer died and had to be replaced again. Mutter mutter curse curse scowl. Fortunately the computer is still under warranty (barely), so it didn't cost me anything but time and frustration. But what a lot of time and frustration.

That's not the only bad news, either. The guy who had agreed to sublet a room in our apartment over the summer just disappeared this morning, without a word to either of us. He sent an e-mail after the fact instead, no doubt trying to avoid an ugly confrontation with the people he was effectively stiffing out of three month's rent. In retrospect, we really should have made him sign a contract.

On the upside, though, we have a room available to rent for all of June, July, and August. Let me know if you're interested, kakodaimon.

Also on the upside, I'm looking forward to a fairly slow, leisurely weekend, which should give me a chance to recover and regroup from this pair of little disasters. It should also give me a chance to play some Soul Calibur III, which I just recently bought, watch some movies, and maybe even get a little writing done. Disasters aside, life is pretty good right now.
