Lives real, potential, and virtual

I have three goals. My goals are these:

  • I will stop fearing my inbox. Most of the messages that have accumulated there are spam anyway, so it's not like I have anything to feel guilty about ignoring for so long. Not much, anyway.

  • Keep my room clean. Given how little time I spend in here, there's no really no excuse for the perpetual squalor.

  • Update this journal more regularly. I enjoy doing it, I love the people I can contact through it, and it's oddly comforting to have a record of what I've thought and where I've been.

I'm going to make these my top priorities when I get home from work each night. I've got nothing else much going on in the evenings, so I might as well start building some good habits.

In more interesting news, maybe, I'm thinking about applying for a job with Linden Labs, the people who make Second Life. I tend to think Second Life is a painfully useless, ugly, shameless expression of capitalist greed at its most petty, but my inner futurist and cyberpunk fan just can't resist the opportunity to be involved in anything that has to do with 3D virtual worlds. Well, it's something to think about, at least.
