I definitely enjoyed both the first Transformers movie and the Transformers cartoon way, way more than I enjoyed that movie.
I concede, though, that it's possible that I just happened to be in the wrong mood to watch that particular movie at that particular time. It's happened before.
There are many, many things wrong with it, but I felt that the whole thing kind of glazed over itself with a veneer of "in any normal movie, this would be enough - but NOT HERE. HERE IS GARGANTUAN. "
Like the bit at the beginning where Shia and Megan are having the L-word talk - the camera does 12 rotations around them! 12!
The only part I liked was when the Autobots try to hide in the back yard by transforming into their vehicle forms and sitting still.
